a tad slower than the original isn't it?

very nice all the same, it has a different feel from the original, it's grown on me from the time I started writing this review and I keep having to rewrite everything, I can easily hear it used on something like the egg walker from sonic adventure or the biolizard from sonic adventure 2

WritersBlock responds:

Yeah, I slowed it down quite a bit, so that the orchestral charm can sink in.

Cheers for the review, mizox.

sounds good

just like the original

it's hard to believe, comparing the 2, that rock&roll originally came from ragtime, isn't it?

WritersBlock responds:

Yeah. Well, when you look into it, everything flows into eachother. Some composers feel the need to make a change, and then a new style is born. We wouldn't have rock and roll, if those damn 19050's kids didn't want to rebel against their parents.

Either way, I love ragtime, it's a lot of fun to play. I might do a couple of others, if I feel up to it, but the good thing is that they're not really too hard, once you know the rhythm, then you can relax and let your fingers fly loose.

catchy...

and very fitting with the feel of a sinister factory, although I can't help but think it might be better for some metallic thumping noises, just my opinion of course

WritersBlock responds:

Yeah, if I tweak this a bit more, I'll probably add more punch to the bass and bring it up a bit.

dude! this is 1337!

it really does sound kinda like a desert, a little slow perhaps, but that doesn't really count against it

WritersBlock responds:

Cool, that's good to know.
I based the rhythm off of a horse's gallop, so I originally pictured a faster song.
Cheers for the review, mizox.

YEAH! DREAMCAST!

not quite as good as the original song from good old SA2 for dreamcast, but then, what is?

err...

doesn't really sound like the music it's based off of (at least not if it's the tune I think it is) it's OK though, and appears to be scoring well, good on ya!

knuxrouge responds:

I know, the add on I made kinda screws it up.
If you focus on the guitars, you can make it out.

interesting...

nice tune, doesn't really remind me of the "curtains of fire" of which I have heard (and always wanted to see) but good all the same, and to be frank I can't really think of any song which would suggest such things to the mind, so this is about as good as it gets, nice song, I like the relaxing trance feel to it

WritersBlock responds:

Cool, thanks.

I'm actually thinking of remaking this song and trying to make it sound "less VG", and I want to make it less repetitive, but keep it trance-ey, you know?

Cheers for stopping by and reviewing, Mizox.
^__^

reminds me of something...

sonic advance 3 chaos angel! that was it! sounds alot like it

WritersBlock responds:

Cool. Thanks for the review. Sorry for the late reply. =/

meh

the lyrics you made up didn't really match up with the song, and you have kinda the wrong kind of singing voice for this song, you went for mellow, it should be more shrieking, not bad though, I couldn't play music that good (I might be able to sing better though)

PaulyBFromDa303 responds:

*looks through profile*

I dont see you tryin, I dont see you workin on a song for two months, I dont hear you singin, so once you done that come see me.

great!

I detect a hint of F-zero past the halfway point, but that isn't really a problem I guess, basic tune was captured quite well, although you left out certain phrase variants from the original(s), not that this section of the song is very complicated, I've picked it out on a piano before, the other sections are rather more complex however, I couldn't figure those out, but you probably can...

WritersBlock responds:

Yeah, the main theme will be a little more tricky, but I think I'll get it alright.

Cheers, for the review.
