urgh...

no offense man, but this thing kinda grates against my eardrums

knuxrouge responds:

Offense taken!!!!!!!
Just kidding, I plan on redoing this song. This was a beforehand tune in which a friend gave me the basic notes. I didn't know what to do with them so I made this.
Looking back on it, its kinda embarrassing.

not bad, epic in fact

very nice, volume was a bit low, but that's not very important, not when I keep my volume control open at all times anyway, remember how the collapsing/moving platforms in that stage looked like pop-up adds? anyways, like i said, epic piece

knuxrouge responds:

Thanks, I personally didn't feel it in this one, but I'm glad you and WB liked it.

GREAT!

but I gotta agree with writersblock and shizeet, tone down the brass a bit and bring out that piano, the piano sounds great, but unless you really concentrate you can't even hear it

knuxrouge responds:

Okay Mizox, thanks.

DUUUUUUUUUUUUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IT'S OVER NINE-THOUSAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND!!!!!

seriously though, this has got to be one of the best LOZ covers out there

Sonofkirk responds:

Wow ! Thanks, man. Nice review !

w00t!

first 17 seconds reminded me of Canon in D / trans-Siberian orchestra's christmas canon, COINCIDENCE!?!?!?

WritersBlock responds:

*insert generic chord progression here*
It's a pretty common progression, so, yeah, it'll sound like a lot of other songs.

heh, yeah, nice

I really like that level, and that song, remember how some of the platforms looked like pop up adds and windows in windows? that level was boss, this song is boss

PaulyBFromDa303 responds:

Yeah that level was one of my faves lol. Still is.

suddenly I understand...

...what the signal was in Stephen King's book "CELL" which turned all humans into evil, violent, insane, mindless worker drones

WritersBlock responds:

LOL
I haven't read that book. Sounds interesting...

more fast techno than epic classical

but good all the same

P.S. what is a bruffin?

WritersBlock responds:

It's drum'n'bass
And I made it to sound like that, it was only when I showed it to my brother that he said that he wanted classical =P

A bruffin is a breakfast muffin.

a tad slower than the original isn't it?

very nice all the same, it has a different feel from the original, it's grown on me from the time I started writing this review and I keep having to rewrite everything, I can easily hear it used on something like the egg walker from sonic adventure or the biolizard from sonic adventure 2

WritersBlock responds:

Yeah, I slowed it down quite a bit, so that the orchestral charm can sink in.

Cheers for the review, mizox.

sounds good

just like the original

it's hard to believe, comparing the 2, that rock&roll originally came from ragtime, isn't it?

WritersBlock responds:

Yeah. Well, when you look into it, everything flows into eachother. Some composers feel the need to make a change, and then a new style is born. We wouldn't have rock and roll, if those damn 19050's kids didn't want to rebel against their parents.

Either way, I love ragtime, it's a lot of fun to play. I might do a couple of others, if I feel up to it, but the good thing is that they're not really too hard, once you know the rhythm, then you can relax and let your fingers fly loose.
